What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are devices that are placed, surgically, in the bones of the mandible or maxilla. Thus, dental implants used to replace one or more teeth have been lost or ruined.
Today, most commonly used dental implants have a cylinder or cone, because dental implants have the function to imitate the roots of teeth that are to be replaced.

Dental implants are shaped and sized pieces of a tooth root, made of high purity titanium whose surface have an acid treatment which assists the initial attraction of the dental implant to the bone and subjected to a sterilization process. The prosthesis is a device, also of titanium, which allows to join the dental implant and osseointegrated to the crown which is placed on top of the dental implant. This is how the tooth is simulated in both aesthetics and functionality.

The dental implant is placed in the jawbone or maxilla. Thanks to these artificial components (dental implants), which exist in different shapes and sizes to meet all the needs in terms of size of the tooth space and the possibilities of successful recovery, patients can replace missing teeth. Thus, thanks to dental implants, the patient may return to its full denture, healthy and functional point of view such as medical-organic aesthetic point of view of beauty.
